Butter is an online video editor for motion graphics. It includes many blocks with kinetic type, shader effects, 3D visuals, and more, all of which are customizable and editable.

p5.js in Butter

Butter’s blocks are all made in p5.js, with many resulting from collaborations between designers and studios and creative technologists in the p5.js community.

Here is a screen recording showing some of the those blocks and how you can combine them into a video:

You can also write your own p5.js sketches and use them within Butter’s video editor. Images and fonts you load become easily editable controls. You can seek anywhere in time, and combine your sketch with other visual elements. You can use this to create your own unique visuals, or also to create editable templates or pieces of video that you can reuse in multiple projects.
